Saturday June 19th sees the inaugural Headspace Youth, Disability and Community Festival taking place in Longhill Park, Bracknell.

Headspace, the local community arts and disability awareness organisation have been looking to put together an all day event for some time. An event that will not only be an enjoyable day for the local community, but also to raise much needed awareness of disabled and disadvantaged people in the area, and their social inclusion in the arts as a whole.

The event, which will be donation on the gate, will have a huge array of different arts projects and workshops going on involving many youth and adult organisations, with the underlying theme to much of it that of disability awareness.

Their will also be 2 stages of live music. A main stage mixing many different styles and age ranges from local young bands to more seasoned and professional performers. There is also an acoustic café which will have more chilled out singer/songwriter performances, again from both youth performers and more established acts.

The skate park area of the site will have skate and BMX performances throughout the day, along with local DJ’s providing the sounds.

As well as this, it will also have all the things you would expect from any outdoor event, including refreshment tent, food stalls and local arts and crafts.

The site will have a small amount of car-parking, however a shuttle bus service (using environmentally friendly buses) will be in operation with a number of designated pick-up points around the area – and then a single drop-off at the festival site.
